Striking Steelhead
22 Years of Data & Lessons Learned on the Clearwater
by Dan Magers
"The data presented in Striking Steelhead was recorded on Idaho's Clearwater River over a 22-year period. You will find lots of information in the extensive charts, graphs and diagrams that will save you a lot of time, increase your hookup probability, and improve your catch rate - regardless of how or where you fish for steelhead!" - Frank Amato
Dan Magers moved to Idaho in 1982 and helped start the nonprofit Idaho Steelhead & Salmon Unlimited. As founder, president and director of ISSU, Dan spent years discussing steelhead biology, politics and fishing with some of the most dedicated anadromous fishery people in the Northwest US. From 1998, Dan kept an extensive log of his days drift boat fishing Idaho's Clearwater River, which is presented here.
